After reading the ATI request from the NFA regarding firearms up for classification by the RCMP I noticed that as of May of this year that Stoeger Canada submitted a ARX100 to the RCMP for classification. You can see it here at this link in the 28th spot.

https://nfa.ca/sites/default/files/ATI%20-%20RCMP%20Reclassification%20Filing%20System%20-%20Oct%202%202013.pdf

As such I sent a email to Stoeger Canada regarding the classification of the ARX and what length barrel was sent with it. This is there response.

Kevin,

Thank you for your interest in the ARX100.

We have submitted a longer barrel length (18.5”) version than the US ARX100 with the intent of having it classified as NON Restricted.

We do not expect to hear anything back in 2013 but hope to hear in early 2014 with product available for sale in 2014.
Regards,

Spyros

I cant wait. :)

It will be 2 years or more. No vendor is going to admit that, they will offer the false hope of much sooner to keep people excited.

Tdc

I don't so much care for the time if it takes a bit. Im just happy its non restricted. As long as its on the market before the end of next year in a non restricted form im a happy camper.

Who says it is restricted?

It is submitted for classification, and who the hell knows what the RCMP will do.

Of course the GSG STG-44 has been waiting for approval for almost 3 years now so I wouldn't hold my breath.

I actually believe the RCMP are stalling waiting for the next election when the Libs and/or NDP introduce legislation to restrict all military style semi auto's, but just a hunch.

Starting to believe this aswell. From the look of it the reclassing of a couple rifles looked like they were testing the waters, there was some stress from the public so they seem to have backed off. I agree that the lab and cfc are waiting for the election to reclass or out right prohib guns.

People need to make no mistake in their thinking. If the libs get in there will be out right bans, no new registry but expect handguns and semi's to go, this basically has been said by them. Ndp expect a renewed effort towards a registry aswell as handgun, semi ban, firearm ownership limits and from some of the latest comments expect ammunition volume bans.

To all those guys that believe they won't come for your hunting rifle. There is a growing antihunting theme with the antigun groups, with a receptive antigun gov't in place expect antihunting campainges, examples in the maritimes, even in Manitoba, Alberta and B.C. If you don't beleive me look up how many new no-discharge laws have popped up around the country.

This does seem to be the case, they (the lab) have constructed volumes of "make work" schemes, such as re-examining all 12.3 firearms during transfers, re-examining the Swiss, 858, and Kriss Vector in order to have excuses for not doing their job in a timely and efficient manner.

I've only seen one review of it but it wasn't positive. Hopefully they've made some changes.
I'll have to look into it more before I get excited about this one.
No worries though, it will be a long wait for the FRT anyway.

Your google-fu is not strong.

Watched a few reviews, looks a lot better than the one I watched a few months ago.

Hmmm..... I thought I wanted an ACR but now I'm not sure. Whichever one shows up first as factory built non restricted will probably be the deciding factor. Having to spend nearly $3000 on an ACR then another $1000 to get a new barrel then going through the trouble to have it reclassified is not that appealing right now.

1950 in the us, so minimum price in canada looking at the other price gaps would be close to 3k. Yikes.

Will beretta actually make 18.5" barrel versions is a different story...

Obviously you didn't read my first post in this thread. The post with the copy of the response from Stoeger Canada saying they submitted a ARX100 with a 18.5 inch barrel to the RCMP with the intent of having it classified non restricted.

Im pretty sure they intend to make 18.5 inch barrels for retail sale as that is what they submitted for classification. Makes no sense to submit a 18.5 inch barrel not to make any for sale. Also remember that Beretta owns Benelli. The Benelli MR1 semi auto rifle have Canadian 20inch barrels just for us.

1950$ is the suggested retail price set by Beretta. It will sell for a few hundred less then that in the States. Probably 1600$ or 1700$ when production meets market demand. 2500$ with tax is what im guessing for Canada.

Wishful thinking and I hope your right but I'd bet we won't see it for less than $2700 but more likely $3000ish.
It has some really nice features and I hope we do see them on the shelves in 2014. Hope they send enough that we don't need the stupid waiting lists.

Instead talk about those hopeless shxt. Can we stand up and against the antis??

Like walk on the street or try to explain to public that most responsible gun owner are safe?

Get all gun owner together to fight back ?

What does that have to do with this thread?
Yes you can stand up against the anti's, join NFA and CSSA and continue to be a responsible gun owner and introduce as many people as you can to shooting. The more friends we have the harder it is for the anti's. Most people have never even held a firearm and only know what they hear and see in the totally biased media garbage. Most will find that it is enjoyable and completely safe when taken out by a responsible gun owner who introduces them to it in the right way. By that I mean usually at an organised range and with good instruction and with firearms with light recoil for the first outing so they have a good time, No big magnums then laughing when the recoil hurts their shoulder.

It wasn't made 3 years ago... it was a protype/ idea back then. delays getting it to the lab if you call them they will give you the date they actually got it over the phone you can find that out for any firearm when they classified and when they got the sample.

Neat rifle wonder what sort of price...
