Good news on the Beretta ARX100 front.

It will be awhile, the US's release schedule is behind and they still have not seen a single one on the shelf. It was supposed to be on dealers' shelves in summer.

Once it is approved, the products still have to be ordered and the distributor has to get in line with other distributors.

My guess is that the production has run into some kind of bottle neck or something needs rework / part shortage / reject of certain parts. That is the reason why the first run is always behind schedule ,as they are still learning to mass produce it in the US plant.

I WANT ONE if NR love it in 308!!

Building one in 308 would be an entirely new rifle.
How about we wait till they make it to Canada and there are a couple different compatible cartridges available like 300blk, 6.8spc, 50 beuwulf, 450 bushmaster, etc before we dream of an entirely new rifle?
Baby steps.

Since when do quick change barrels equal prohibiion?

I said might prohibit it. I guess I phrased it in a bad way. My line of thinking is that then someone could buy a 19inch barreled version that is nr then pop in a 12.5inch barrel and not declare it as restricted. They might look at this loophole then drop the banhammer on it.

Quick change barrel has nothing to do with a rifle classification. Sometimes RCMP makes weird decisions, but there is always a basis for the decision in the firearms act and the OIC- no matter how unreasonable many may consider the interpretation to be.

This is like trying to explain natural phenomenons with superstition. We have to understand the mechanics and the working of the nature, instead of simply brushing it aside as an act of divinity.

I don't see this as a reason to make it prohibited. I plan to do exactly that if I buy one of these or an ACR. I want a non restricted length and classification to play away from the range and another short barrel to play with when I go to the range.
If someone decides to be stupid and use the short barrel away from the range then when they get caught and charged and have all their firearms confiscated they only have themselves to blame and I just hope they don't come on here crying about it.
When people stop being stupid the lawmakers and enforcers will be out of a job.

This rifle should be no different than an XCR if it comes with an 18.5 inch barrel.

I know I get a tad excited when I hear of a really cool hunting rifle possibility. It's a beretta to boot lol
