OK was just at Target Sports last weekend and was given an opportunity to look at first hand @ the new IMPROVED MP-A TS model.

Its the same shotgun that Ive had now for 2 years plus but instead of me having to put an ATI stock in the back so I can have an adjustable L.O.P. this new model has that feature outta the box !

My initial doubts was that Hatsan had copied the Benelli M4 adjustable stock - thankfully they did not. Instead of having only 3 adjustable slots like the M4, the TS has at least 6 indents so this way depending on what you are wearing or how long your L.O.P. is, the stock will now give you infinite adjustments.

The added feature is that the stock is now also removable so now you can shoot it even less accurately from your hip without a stock !

The main caveat to this design is the stock has play in it due to the pin thats securing it to the pistol grip. The Benelli M4 stock btw is sans any play dead solid.

Is this a deal breaker to you parting $500 of your hard earned ca$h ? I can live with it personally for the savings.

Also noted on the TS are more lettering on the receiver, to be exact they printed a open /close on the tube lockout button which is a nice touch for someone not yet familiar to the controls of the MP-A... nice touch and nice feature for the asking price.

Worried about support ? There is a 3 year warranty on the MP-A !

Sorry forgot to add this important part.....MP-A owners that want this adjustable stock can also obtain it separate...its a matter of waiting for the shipment to come in....no word on the price however.

I bought my MP-A not knowing a month later this was being released :/ I haven't been successful in finding an aftermarket stock like the above to put on it.

SFRC told me the MPA's only have a one year warranty.

One thing to keep in mind is what support the manufacturer offers, both under warranty and outside of the warranty.

One year for manufacturing defects should be sufficient. I'm more interested in knowing that when I wear out a spring or firing pin, etc, that the factory will be able to help.

how much play are we talking on the stock? at 500 this seems nice, i always wanted a benelli m4 but this mights be a good way to try a semi shotgun kind of like the benelli before spending 2000$ on something i never even seen in person.

Not much at all - maybe a 1/32" of play. Its there. Will you notice it when your busy firing slugs downrange ? No. But when your cleaning its noticeable. Will it get worse over time? Not sure.

Its the nature of the design, since its a pin that holds it secure to the pistol grip.

Me too.
It seems like buying accessories and parts from Hatsan is not as easy as it should be.....

OR you can purchase the Hatsan adjustable stock thru the same dealer that you picked up ur MP-A from..

SFRC, is the dealer I've bought from and they informed me that at this time they don't know how to order accessories from Hatsan.....it seems the "sheet" they have for ordering is not complete.
I was interested in a typical non pistol grip fixed stock and they don't know how to order it?

It's not on any of our order sheets so we can't order them

Thanks but I understood that already from Marcie's email... This revelation did leave me with more questions though.....
I wonder if there is someone you can talk to about expanding the import items to beyond just the guns?
Perhaps the importer or Hatsan directly?
What's the point in bringing in the guns if we can't order parts?
Surely someone must be able to get parts or is the plan for warranty work to simply refund and or replace?
I'm sorry too grind you so hard for info, but Hatsan is not a traditional brand in Canada. It would be nice to see some support and confidence in this line.

Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of the manufacturer. I work for the wholesaler these come through and I can assure you, we have to wait to get parts. The last shipment received, we only got a fraction of the accessories and replacement parts we have on order. I'm hoping more come through on the next shipment scheduled to arrive in the next few months.
For example...the door busters, we ordered 100 units and got 20 only. We didn't receive any of the collapsible stocks we ordered, only the top folding ones. Please be patient with the stores as we are attempting to get them what they want in a timely manner. It's not an easy task, particularly when dealing with factories overseas.
