Good pair of binoculars?

Good evening all!
Me and my Dad went to tisdale sk today. Eagle firearms is located up there. Got a chance too look at a "expensive" pair of binos, mind you look, not purchase :)

Blown away by the zeiss victory range finding binoculars. I should be, for $5200 they are the best binos my eyes have had the privilege of looking through.
Light transmision blew me away! It was like a light was turned on when you looked through them.

Takeaway from the trip today. Don't buy cheap binoculars. Spend the money, maybe not that amount.

One thing though, I didn't buy them. I'm not that rich yet. Lol

I just upgraded my glass from Vortex Viper 10x42 to Swarovski SLC 10x42. If I was just starting out I would go with the Vipers and not look back. The swaro's are better but not much to justify spending almost 3 times as much. If your hunting sheep where you will be glassing all day there will be less eye strain with the better glass but don't think that better glass than vipers will get you more game. I've compared in the evening at last light and there's not as much difference as you would think.

I agree with Pete^. I've got leica and Swarovski binoculars and they're awesome. Everything built by man is eventually going to fail or more likely get stolen. I'd never use a rifle scope I don't trust but if vortex binos go wonky it wont cost you a hunt. Send them in for another pair.

I have a new set of 10x42 vortex furry range finder binos and they are good, not as good as to of the line Zeiss or swaro, but not 3 time as bad lol !

I was looking at those. If I didn't already have a rangefinder I might have bought them. The glass is on par with the Vipers which is pretty good and of course, you got the warranty. I think you'll be happy with them. You should do a review, I would be interested.

Swarovski SLC 10x42 is excellent. Buy once-cry once.
Omer at Precision Optics in Quesnel BC is fantastic to deal with A+ service and knowledge!

Got a set of Leupold BX4 pro guide hd 10 x 50, couple years ago, wanted a set with lots of eye relief, wearing glasses with these works pretty good. Looked through some expensive Swaros and Steiner, didn’t really notice a huge difference in the store over the set I got. They are nice glass compared to what I had used in the past, which were 2-400 dollar sets. You don’t hear too much on here about the leupold line, do people not like them. I honestly don’t have much to compare to, so to me they are great. And living in rural area we don’t have much to choose from, unless you drive a long ways.
