"...cci nato primers..." NATO, they ain't. CCI #34 "milspec" primers a marketing gimmick. Regular large rifle primers will do nicely with IMR4064. Varget is another powder you can look into.
so far, I've tried:
varget -- had it in the hopper, some say just on the edge of being too fast. had some issues with my brass
IMR4895 -- works well
RE15 -- works really well
I used 210m and winchester primers, and remington brass. Best i can tell, and others have told me, the brass is not the best, but does work.
Alot of what has been written in those articles comes from decades of loading and shooting experience with the M-14, not just from the author, but through the AMU and countless highpower shooters out of the U.S..
Lots of people in the know recommend against Varget in the M-14. Varget is said to be too slow and can create excessive port pressures. I believe the same source has said IMR4064 is at the slow limit -personally, I'd stay in the middle.
IMR4895 & Hodgdon's H4895 are nearly identical, with H4895 having the added benefit of being temperature insensitive.
I've used both to good effect and now gravitate to H4895 for the M-14
I've had good success with H335 and plain old bulk Winchester bullets in 150 grain. As far as good brass life, I find that the M14 is pretty hard on brass, regardless of powder chosen.

Like the idea oh the H-4895. with tempeture not effecting it so much as i do live in canada make a load in the summer then firing them in the winter with similar results... Have been doing a little research and people are getting go results with this powder. cant go wrong IMO
I've found the H4895 to be a great powder. It meters well through my powder thrower, the grains are easily cut.
My M305 likes 38 grns of H4895 pushing a 165 grn Hornady BTSP. This has been a great load out to 100 yds, not sure if it will cut it at 200 and beyond.
I'm going to try and work up a load for my 22-250 with H4895 in the hope of eliminating storing so many different powders.
"...H4895 and IMR4895 the same thing..." Close, but not the same. The H4895, I think, is a tiny bit slower that the IMR. Mind you, it might be the other way.
"...your 4064 load?..." My only .308(real semi'd M14) is considered to be evil, so it doesn't get out. And idiot that I've become, I didn't write it down. Did for .30-06 match bullet loads for my '03A4, but that won't help.
