Good quality 7.62x54r

I am looking high and low but all I can find in the way of decent hunting ammo 150 and 180 grain soft point. Does any one know of anything else in the way of hunting ammo like a TSX or a nosler?

PRVI makes 7.62x54R, 150gr, SP-BT. It is available with Ryan at SFRC. This is very good ammunition. Brass is annealed if you're doing reloads.
 
You definitly wont find it with a barnes or a nosler. First off its not a .308 call bullet so barnes and nosler dont even make a bullet that would work. Try S&B or PPU, both have excellent brass and at the velocities that a 180 is traveling, you dont need a suuper premium bullet. Trust me.

The Sellier & Bellot stuff is pretty good; I've been using the same brass for a couple of reloads now and it shows no sign of weakening.

Privi is considered the best stuff. Budget Shooter's has some Privi brass available in bulk, if you reload.
 
Oh, you might consider slugging your bore to see just what diameter you got. My own Mosin likes the .312 diameter Hornady stuff, but your might be better with .311, .310 or even .308 depending on what the tube is like.

.312 Hornady shoots better in every gun i own (re: 7.62x54r), but f you don't reload, PRVI and S&B are very good quality hunting rounds with good brass
