Good rangefinder?

Purchased a entry level one for under $150 awhile ago, it was okay, good out to 600-700m, felt cheap...and was.
Picked up a used Nikon Black RangeX 4K Range Finder from a member here for $350, they retail for $$679.99 ++.
It is absolutely amazing and will range well over 3km.
If other Nikons' are that good, I wouldn't hesitate to look at one in your price range.

I would look at any brand that makes higher end more Expensive ones like Sig Sauer, leupold or Leica. You are more likely to get some trickle down tech in those than in other brands. I use a 2800.com from Leica and combined with a kestrel I can range and dial to shoot in seconds. Definitely convenient.

I'm pleased as heck with my Leupold RX-1400i, I believe it was like $329 when I bought it and it looks like the price has held out. Solid brand/warranty.

Leica all the way.Buy used if need to meet the budget.DSCF4144.jpgA late season double me and my brother pulled off but his older leupold was not ranging with the falling snow at the time of the shots. My Leica worked and made it happed.DSCF4148.jpgNot a lot a rams in our home zone close enough to walk to.His was a old range finder and this was 8-10 years ago and i do love leupold optic's,but the range finders i buy now are the Leica models.

Mines a Nixon Prostaff 7i. It claims out to 1300yds, although it doesn't get me past maybe 600 in field conditions ranging off trees and such. (I'm told it's pretty standard practice to half the advertised range to get an idea of what it'll actually do in field conditions, which is about right for mine).

If I can't get a range then at minimum I know it's too far to shoot though, as I've never had an issue getting ranges out to 400+.

I bought it on sale at Cabelas for $200 I want to say, it was a few years ago. I think it's a discontinued model, I don't see it on the Nikon website but Cabelas.com still has it for $300usd.
