Good scope for a Ruger MKIII Hunter ?

Looking to get a scope for this baby. (7 inch barrel version)

Any suggestions ? Normally i only shoot out to 20-25 yards max, maybe i dont even need a scope but if i do it's gotta be silver to match the stainless ! :)

I had a bushnell illuminated 4 recticle scope on my MKiii 5" bull bbl.
While it worked well it added too much extra weight for my liking. Since yours is the 7"bbl with a high-viz front sight and the fact that you're shooting out to 25yrds, I would just use the irons.
The money saved on a heavy/cumbersome scope setup can get you a lot of ammo and more practice time;)

I normally shoot short range but i do get invited out to shoot longer range once in a while so it would be nice to have a scope on standby for these occasions. Dont know what i should be looking for.
 
What do you consider long range? If you want a scope you should be looking for one designed for pistols.
I'd be looking at a red dot like the Vortex sparc or Bushnell TRS-25.... I find scopes are harder to use with pistols.
