Hey,

After wiping out in my old shoes at an indoor match few weeks ago, I spent some time looking around at what's available. I think I found the perfect shoes, for me: comfy as hell, light, cheap, and they seem to grip slippery indoor ranges like crazy glue! Thought I'd share that, in case anyone was looking for good shoes for ipsc:

Merrell makes good stuff. So does Vasque, I use them indoors and outdoors. Mine go above my ankle, so as to provide good ankle support. (broke my ankle and had knee surgery) So good I wear them as everyday footwear.

Oakley's are on sale at Viking Police in Dartmouth, but only for a limited time.....

>Check out Rocky footwear http://www.rockyboots.ca/duty1.html yeah, at more than twice the price

Rocky Shoes Are the Way To Go Eh!

My pick for all terrain mobilty is either a pair of Rocky boots and/or the Norwegian Army boots made by ECCO. Either brand are lightweight, waterproof and DO protect the ankles and more importantly the knees in what could be termed "violent/very rapid maneuvre on slippery surfaces in outdoor versus indoor matches.
The product testing is already done for these. Check out how many Rocky boots went to Iraq in the last three years. They supply the US Forces; their stock in 2003-2004 rocketed .
I did wear out a pair of soles on my Rocky boots. It took several years.
Ever step on an upturned nail or broken glass or atop an errant speedloader or spent case placed "just right for a pratfall"? It isnt really much fun seeing a nail come through the top of your bootsole or the kindly Dr in 1946 telling you the odds are good you will loose your leg to bloodpoisoning. Not that any sharp objects could be left lying around undetected after IPSC stages are flung together at the "last minute" let alone running around an outdoor IPSC range.
Thats just my pick. Also works for DCRA Service Rifle or DCRA Practical Pistol.
