Had venison steak in mesquite. My last grouse breast. Stuffed mushrooms, loaded potatoe. Hot peppers of course, and a rye and ginger! Yum! Hope you guys had something just as good.

Dave.

Mine was A&W tonight because I was on the road, but the last couple of nights I have been BBQing with a new BBQ sauce from President's Choice.

It's called "Smokin' Habanero", a tequila :D  habanero spicy BBQ sauce. It's about $4 for a 1 litre bottle.

Just thought you and the other CGN spice and tequila fans might want to know.

I've seen it. But haven't tried it yet. It's good is it?

Lucky bastard ... Still trying to convince the cousin to allow me to join him for my first hunt (I <could> go on my own but honestly, I wouldn't know how hunting works, let alone how to clean the damned critter I <theoretically> killed), after 5 years ... So it's Chinese food for me tonight.

Hey Triton, it was a pizza night... I've been craving one for over a year now...LOL! tomorrow we will try out the new barby sauce.

Glad to see you are eating well... YUM! and rye & ginger , something I haven't had in a while.. used to be my favorite! Enjoy, hun!

Watched a program the other night whilst killing a little time.

Steven somebody ... "BBQ University" ... from Virginia. He was doing a version of Texas style steaks marinated in beer, lime juice, jalapenos, garlic & a few other things.

Replicated his recipe with some some nice, lean Bear chops. Roisti potatoes and fiddleheads. Washed it down with a modicum of Magnotta's "Cacciatore"
red , and then a "Cuba Libre" a little later to settle everything.
Muy contente ! :D

Well get out there & get some  They are just getting started around Lanark Highlands, but further South they are probably halfway through their growth cycle. They are my all time favorite wild mushrooms. Chantrell's will be out next. They are very safe & easy mushrooms to find as they are a bright orange color with a distinct shape. I urge everyone to be very careful when picking & eating wild mushrooms. The wrong wild mushroom could be the last one you ever eat. Get a good book, or find someone who is knowledgeable to take you out.

let's see ...this past week I've had fresh laketrout fillets panfried, fresh laketrout steaks panfried, and barbecued bacon and laketrout rollups .
I've also had homemade moose salami , deep-fried partridge and tonight we had barbecued calf-moose steaks (medium rare) which I washed down with my homemade blueberry wine(my oldest grandson sez it tastes like brandy) .
I'm gonna look for morels, if it ever warms up here....it's been spitting snow all day .

Muskox burger and some damn old oven fries....

Morels already?!?...I can't abide any mushrooms, but the rest of the family loved to hunt for them at the cottage. Good times....
