Gave my JM Marlin 336 to the oldest boy a few months ago and been hunting for a replacement ever since! This arrived today, yes I know - rebounding hammer & safety but I have Grand Dad's old 1894 in 38-55 when I feel the need to be a strict traditionalist....

Some half decent lumber on it, checkering is crisp, feels great in hand and already slick as goose sh*t.... Crappy cell phone pics on a lousy background don't do it justice. I'll post this new one alongside it's 122yr old relative tomorrow.

If it is accurate I'll be giddy ;)

Can't wait to try it out in the bush, especially offhand but not until next week :bangHead: Damn making a living thing.....

Here is my 1896 vintage 1894. First generation and latest generation side by each in the safe. Makes me feel like becoming an avid lever fan and start collecting these manually assisted semi auto's ;)

Both are beauties!! I recently scooped a 1918 94 rifle in .32 Special. A running mate for my mid-50’s .32 carbine. Love the 94’s.
