Hey guys dont know if this is the right place or not, but...

I was out today calling some coyotes and I ran into a problem. My stupid primos jackrabbit distress caller froze up on me within a matter of minutes. What are some good distress callers that work in our cold canadian winters without freezin up?

I thinking a open reed one would work better because you can actually get at the reed if it does get wet and cold? That seemed to work good with my howler.

I also stopped by WSS to see what they had and saw the primos dog catcher. Its a open reed caller, but what I think I like about it is its got like a small pump on it instead of actually blowing into it, so that eliminates moister getting inside it. In theory that would work better. Anyone use this caller and recommend it?

thanks

You're bang on with the open reed idea. I would stay away from primos calls however. I've had some and never did like them. Sceery makes a great call and they make an open reed jackrabbit distress. I like mouth calls better then ecallers so I usually carry 3 or 4 and leave them next to my skin under my clothes so that when one freezes up another is ready to go.

Ok guys thanks

Ill get a open reed one for sure. I do like my knight hale howler, as it worked really good today. lol Had this yote going crazy jumping around and barking at me for about a hour. It was pretty funny.

Thought the idea of that primos dog catcher was pretty good though. I thought anyways.
