Goose Call Help!!!

I can never blow low deep sounds with my call. It drives me nuts lol. I tried changing my on hand position, making different noises into the call and everything else I can think of. Im using a Buck Gardner Canada Hammer II. If anyone has some tips or suggestion please share :)
 
Get yourself a "Big River" call. I bought 6 calls and had the same problem till I got mine. So easy to use and it's so much deeper than other calls.
 
You dont need another call just to make that goosey noise. With your hands around the end of the call they should be quite restrictive but not enough that its to hard to blow through, any kindof sound should do but most say a form of "Guuu" or "Oooo" so if your doing a murmur call, its just a bunch of very low "Guuuu" the part that gets the sound even lower is when you put voice inflection into it, almost just like you're purring but "gurring" while you do it.

And then a simple honk it just stacked on top of that base sound "Guuu" and then adding "eet" at the top end, while opening up the end of the call. So its just "Guuu-eet" and you can make the low end short or quick for different honks.

Hope this helps, it could also be the tune on the call but then you'd have to change it around or get someone who knows how to do it help you.
 
Thanks for the tips guys but I've tried everything you've mentioned (making different sounds into the call, playing with the reed) and watched every youtube video I could find. Time to get out the saw :p
 
I use a Canada Hammer II myself and it took a bit of getting used to. (used to only blow flute calls, which were way easier to generate throaty sounds)

The YouTube link a couple of posts back is very good. I found wrapping the one hand around the bell of the call and supporting with the off hand gave enough back pressure. Your call is capable of a wide range of sounds, so put in some practice and unless its broken, you should see results.
 
I gave up trying to sound like a goose. Just make a sqeaky alarm racket with the call and the flock boss figures someone needs a rest and drops in.

IMHO Works better on those high flocks which are probabley travelling and not looking to land.
 
It's the call, period.

Send me your address and I'll send you my Big River call. I haven't been out hunting in a couple years and can buy a new one when I get back out.
