Until you get to into the midrange calls you are fighting not only inexperience but also the call it self.

Okay what would be a good midrange call that wont break the bank?

I learned on a primos honky tonk, moved on to a zink pc-1, used it for a hunt in manitoba had success with it but sounds more like a lesser then a greater. I just bought a buck gardner workin man honker hammer, not a big fan of it.

GK Giant Killer should be around 75$, it's a good enough call that you won't need to replace it later, I started my brother on one.
