Gooser???

26 days to go here on the island of Newfoundland. It opens the same day as ptarmigan and I usually concentrate on those. However, I have been scouting a bit and have a good chance to get some geese on opening day and will be camping out for a night or two.

I'll be using a Browning cynergy classic field 12 gauge with #1 tungsten matrix 1 3/4 oz loads. It's usually a long distance affair with geese around here.

I was contemplating selling my 'Gooser' but for the present, I've changed my mind. I'm looking at acquiring some ITX shot, as Bismuth is no longer available, to crank out reloads for it rather than opening up the chokes for steel shot. I've posted these pictures on my AYA 10ga. 3 1/2" Mag previously.

Actually this is the second AYA 10ga. I've had over the years and the wood on this one is much nicer than that on the first:D.

Good luck to you all and enjoy ... :D

p.s. I have both OD green and TAN paint ... was thinking of painting the metal on my new semi ... which color do you think I should?

I usually use a fab-arm gamma 3" 12 Gauge, 30" barrels, or a Armsport 10 Gauge, 32" barrels and choked Mod and Mod.

I've finally decided to shoot steel through my Beretta 687 Silver Pigeon 111 (28" barrels) this year.

Early season sept 3-11 here. I have a super Vinci coming but it won't be here in time for it'll be the trusty Winchester sx2. It's a pretty done up waterfowling gun, surecycle stainless steel recoil spring, wad wizard supreme choke, dipped in natgear camo. It's killed a lot of birds in all the years I've had it. But the simplicity of the super Vinci and how easy to clean has won me over so I'll be making the switch.

Lots of geese flying over town here heading back south boys ... ;) POST PICS OF YOUR GOOSER's! :D

I only got one goose today but it is a start. I can't post pictures from my iPhone but I have a mp-153. This is the 6th season on it. I think I might upgrade to a 10g for geese though. The one I shot today was 60 or so yards and I was lucky to get that one. Once I can put some pictures up I will.
