I saw the local population at the Yorkton Regional High School on the weekend again. Even their numbers seemed a little lower this year but it wasn't really that nice of a weekend. I would have rather been sitting outside with a varmint rifle instead of inside watching the Ukranian dancing but we have to make a few sacrifices for our kids.

I'm south of swift, shot a couple of dozen a few weeks ago and hardly seen any since! It's been cold out and the grass is just starting to green up.

I have shot about 125 so far this spring on a pasture I have access to. They aren't as plentiful as last year at this time but I put a pasting on them there last year so I am sure that is a major factor. I got to watch a Red Tail Hawk swoop down and nail one last time out. We were both on them that day, lol

This spring was not as wet as the last couple of years have been; so if it stays that way for the next few seasons the numbers should be up again.
Plan to head out to the western part of the province in a couple weeks time, have heard that its more "normal" over there as spring flooding is generally not a problem.
