Gopher Virgin Breaks Cherry ** GRAPHIC**

Only blasted one today.

Went out today to shoot paper. I need to get some trigger time in for the winter coyotes this year. Dont want anything running away from me this winter because I didnt do my part. I did find out that my 223 likes 45gr better then anything eles, which is a good thing to know.

I did see one family of 5 coyotes this morning and saw another adult with acouple of pups yipping in a near by bush.

New pasture was a " Field of Dreams" Best shooting so far this year. The classic wack a mole scenario, the more I put down, the more popped up. Went through a brick, and just about went cross eyed with the constant shooting. The CZ 452 Thumbhole varmint did a bang-up job. Sorry, but I'm not into sharing my good fortune. Seek and Ye shall find.

Maybe something's wrong with me, but I still giggle at those videos of people pink misting groundhogs :) I would love to do some of that out here, but it's goddamn Ontario. Too bad there wasn't some kind of registry where farmers could post "I need folks to shoot my groundhogs" and you plan a trip around that.

Yeah, I wish the same thing. :( Instead, I have to knock on allot of doors, network, beg, whatever. Even found someone who likes their groundhogs and no guff...I could SEE 5 of the buggers from where I was talking to them. What a drag.

I am having some luck though, averaging about 4 per outing, seeing about 6-7.

Second trip to the Field of Dreams today. All I can say is " WOW'. Just as good as the first time, just went to another part. Used the Buckmark rifle and CZ 455 FS. Both are deadly to the little freaky cannibals.

Lookin like you found a good place.

We got a place like that not to far from pilot butte

It has been a good spot all spring and summer until about 2 weeks ago, the farmer moved the cattle into the pasture so that has ended the shooting there for a while. But they are spreading out from there and have started setting up home in a field across the road. As soon as I am able I am going to try to secure permission for that one as well.

Maybe this fall while set up in the layouts Big J!! Poor gophers come close to us then and they'll never knew what hit 'em. At least they have a chance while I have a rifle in my hands but a shotgun??!!!;)

I haven't hunted gophers since I was a kid living on an acreage in Saskatchewan. Now that I'm all grown up with my own rifles, I'm starting to think it's time to start getting back into the hobby again... :)

Thanks for the pics and videos... pure nostalgia for me... :D
