I am currently stationed in Whitecourt for the summer, working with a pair of guys from austraila. One is a very keen shooter, the other is brand new to the sport, would like to take them out for gophers this summer, but don't know any spots in the area.

Will supply the beer, and could probably arange a helicopter ride, for some good information.

thanks :D :dancingbanana:

So do we drink the beer before the chopper ride, during or after? :)

Edit:
Oh yeah, as far as gophers I think about Onoway area they start to show up. Maybe stop a farms around there and ask. I'm pretty sure I've seen the critters along the ditch there on Hwy 43.

I probably met her when i interviewed there a while back. nice company, everyone very friendly. they made me an offer, but I wasn't going to leave mustang for a ground job. I do miss flying 22's & 44's though, fun little machines :D

When I used to drive truck up to GP, Lacrete etc back in about '97 i think...I actually saw 3 of the big eastern style groundhogs fighting on the side of the hiway. I was really surprised...I didn't think Alberta had the big guys here.
It was in the Valleyview Foxcreek area i believe.

You have to stay in the rural parkland area fer gophers, that's their turf. Although there might see the odd concentration up there, your best bet is to head south for a free for all slaughter (Onoway, Rivier Que Bar (sp?), Morinville & Busby to name a few places)

Welcome to Whitecourt. I work for Millar too. Ask Mark on our Hellitak Crew. He would know. I think there are some around or south of where he lives.
