I would like to plan a gopher shooting trip in bc but have no idea how to talk to interested land owners? dose anyone know of any farmers that like people to come exterminate their pests, or any ideas of how to find people who are?

I'm in Abbotsford and definately want to get out on a gopher shoot...

I will be traveling around the province (BC) a lot this spring/summer and expect to find a few places with good populations...

In region 8 you can only shoot them on private land but there are other regions where crown land is open...

When I find them I'll post where they are... :)

Oooh, the gophers won't like that new Puma 454 Casull of yours one bit!

I have a Rem 700P in 223, a new Marlin 917VSF 17hmr, a new s/s Browning BL22 22lr, a old Ruger M77 22-250 that I am going to use before I even get that little Puma 92 454 out... :)

Last year I was shooting the heads off of gophers out to 80 yards with my Marlin 1895GS 45-70 with 300gr Hornady HP's and 54gr of H322... :)

BC guys

Farmers in BC are no different than farmers/ranchers in other provinces. Go to where they are. Auction sale barns, farm supply stores, feed stores, parts stores and machinery dealers are just a few. Posters in these areas don't hurt. Talking to the people in these places about what you want can help. You will be suprised how much these guys know about their farmer/rancher customers. A lot of times when you find one good spot the farmer will tell you about a neighbour that also has a problem. Some times it affect farmers that have ajoining property. I caution showing up with the big guns right off the bat, unless your on a big acreage ranch the noise may shut you down-----Cowboy
