Anyone know a gopher spot close to Regina? I'd love to come out that way and shoot some if there's a place open to it, or someone wants some company. I have family living in Regina, so I'm hoping there is opportunity near or within a couple of hours drive nearby.

I'm in Winnipeg. My sister and her family live in Regina. I'd love to take my nephew (sister's boy) out somewhere and shoot some gophers. I used to love to do that on my Grandparent's farm when I was a kid. They're long gone now. Most of my Uncles farm or farmed, but there are not many gophers out there way anymore (SW corner of Manitoba, Medora area).

I went out last summer on a Saturday with two bricks of .22 and about 100 .243. My two other friends had similar counts and we had to come home early because we ran out of ammo.
Lets just say we weren't playing Rambo either.

well casterpollox, in my last drive down south there are gophers starting to come out. and I have reports from a friend that dropped 500 or so last week outside swift. we should not be waiting for the out of towner's shoot in july to get together. Who is up for a local sk cgnr's outing?

Unfortunately there are no gophers this year near Regina. It is best stay around swift Current area and Southern Alberta.
Remember folks, NO GOPHERS AROUND REGINA ANYWHERE !!!

I am now on my way out to the field with sad heart, and I assure you those shots you hear at only at cans, because there are NO GOPHERS NEAR REGINA !!
Being 17 hrs from Calgary, and a ferry ride accross, and with gas being 2.13 north of Swift Current, It's definitely not worth the trip just to find out that there are NO GOPHERS NEAR REGINA!

well gotta watch that ferry at swift current its a little unstable. but for you locals reginians lets go pop a few rounds. can find something to shoot at, one way or another. Even if we have to go all the way to winnipeg and show them how to shoot (and play football).

No The snow hasn't melted. They don't expect it to be gone before august,

Can gophers swim to safety or do you guys rescue them when the fields are flooded in the monsoon season?
Just a little side note , we had a gun show in Swift Current and
truck load of 10/22 and savage's in 22 and 17hmr where sold , In
30 years I have never seen the likes of it. One 10/22 left at close up.
Even sold my personal 22, Guess I will have to thake the FN-C2 out

I think I will have to give up shooting gophers and start a company to vacuum them up and relocate them. You guys are all so nasty, shooting those poor little cute furry creatures. Anybody out there want to start a trucking company to haul the cute little fellas out to wherever that dear lady was from that suggested the idea? You could haul gophers out and granola and tofu back!! I hope the Co-op has a sale on .22 shells soon, as I am down to about 10 or 15 thousand rounds!! There are some gophers out around here. Tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!
