Gophers Out---Yahooooo(new pics)

I shot these pics last Sunday. We went out again today, but I have to get the photo's developed. Too windy today, the shooting really slowed down.

If anyone around edmonton spots some in a field that can be shot in, let me know when and where and I'll bring the drinks.

Not much of gophers when I shoot them with my 22-250 with 50 or 55gr v-max's. :O

We had an great day hunting Pheasants with Pheasants Forever on Saturday just north of Brooks. It was +20C and the gophers were out in full force. All we had were our shotguns, but that didn't stop us from blasting a few. Not much left after a 12g #6 shot hits one!!

well Im not one for taking pics of my gophers but.........
Im thinking that the bunch of pics border on a little weenie
so here is some pics of what a gopher hunt should look like. Just a couple of gophers that got killed

Thats about what they look like when hit with a 50 or 55gr vmax from my 22-250 too.
Unless I get them in the head, then it looks like someone cut their head off with a spoon.

Killed about 50-75 this morning... I don't think the ladies are out yet west of Calgary... either that, or my gopher haven had a rough winter and they're mostly dead!

my best friend and his 7 yr old boy and i went out this morning and heres some pics of him and his "newly refinished cooey" (courtesy of me and jollyroger pics to follow), and a few of the gophers he shot

ok, here's some pics of my cleanest kills from this weekend of gopher shooting (unfortunately i didn't have my camera for when i got the good carnage)
these are what a 45-70 will do, hehehe:dancingbanana:

This little fella, i actually missed completely; not a mark on him, but he was bleeding out his mouth and ears, threw him about three feet. I pounded the dirt right under his feet and killed him with the precussion.
I love my lever gun:D

some of the more proper carnage included a head shot resulting in a clean decapitation, the gooifying of the gopher that started to eat him, and what apeared to be a complete de-boning of their buddy a few yards down the road.
more pics to follow later. oh yah

hahaha, best time of the year....buying a .17hmr tomorrow and going out blastin some groundhogs.

there are sooo many around where i live...I'm not aloud to turkey or deer hunt on this farmers land unless i shoot groundhogs/coyotes first lolol

Posting yourself with gopher carcasses... not sure if glorifying the carnage is something we should be graphically displaying on an open forum.

Regardless, someone let us know when the females are out. The farmers/ranchers prefer to get them before the babies create more problems. (yeah, but more targets too!)
