Just getting into using these programs for load development. Anyone observing significant differences in outcomes between them? I’m seeing much higher charge weights coming from Quickload.

I use both. QL, for example, is dead-nuts on with my .223 loads while GRT is off. GRT has been much better with 6mm GT. This is feeding both with accurate case volume information.

GRT is generally easier to use, but does not have integrated exterior ballistics. QL is under active development.

So plusses and minuses to each. But each of them are useful for choosing bullets and powders, which is my main purpose. Actual velocity I'll measure with a Labradar LX anyway.

Measuring H2O volume is important. The better data you input the better you get out. I import my Labradar readings into Gordon's and tweak the start pressure until velocity matches. I find it pretty good. Either tool you need a quality chronograph.

I use Quickload a lot, have had the program for the last 11 years. I haven't used GRT but understand it is much the same

web based QL pro @ $50 a year probably a good value if you'll use it regularly. I might try it just to see the differences between the program and Pro
