Was in at Epps yesterday just looking around for stuff to spend more money on. They had crates of czech surplus, 1320 rounds for $199. This is the stuff thats been opened and re-boxed and labeled. Its corrosive and I read the czech stuff may not be the best. But for that price I dont care. Ill just use it for fun blasting days. Came in a wood crate with latches and a steel band, but once opened, the rounds were all in cardboard boxes of 20 with stickers. Funny thing is that the top of the crate has a spam can opener attached, but my Chinese surplus that comes in a sealed crate with 2 spam cans inside has NO can opener. I guess ill hold on to this one for future use.

Just thought id pass on a good find on cheap ammo.

It's not Czech if it came 1320 to the crate.

The recent Chinese spam cans from Tradex should have two pull wires and D rings to pull them with, or a key, like on corned beef cans, depending on vintage.

For a 199 bucks I wouldnt care if it came from Narnia packed in marsmallows..what a deal ! And they already took it out of the cans for you :)

Heard good things about Romanian.. Still gotta dial in my rifle before I can confirm/deny. Only had one FTF in a couple hundred rounds (new rifle), but it was most likely due to user error.

Kinda wish id bought 2 now. I certainly dont have the money for it... but I agree with all of you... Ill end up shooting it some time. Might as well get it while its still cheap.
They had it listed as czech... maybe its not. I have no idea. Every round has red paint on it though. Whatever that means. Ill be out tomorrow or sunday shooting it.

The chinese stuff I have been shooting was the stuff I got from marstar along with my $75 SKS and it has been perfect. Not one FTF... im going on 1100 rounds and not one issue. Cant complain about that. If this stuff is half as good ill be a happy camper.

If it came in the unpainted wooded crate then it is definitely Romanian surplus. They did have some Czech 7.62X39 not too long ago, and I think the 7.62X25 they've got is Czech, so someone probably just got mixed up with what came from where.

good price! price looks like what they were last year. anyone here notice that this ammo went from 199 to 299 in one year?

I've still got an un-opened crate of Czech surplus 7.62X39 that I bought a couple of years ago for $150. Should've bought more, seems that surplus ammo is doing way better than my stocks or mutual funds.

Interesting report on this ammo. I shot 1400 rounds of the chinese surplus I got from marstar and didnt have ONE FTF or jam or anything at all... not ONE.

This stuff has been completely different. It seems like its not cycling the gun hard enough so ever 10 or 15 rounds I get one that gets stuck in the bolt. Generally, it ends up sideways with the next round half in the chamber. It happened way to often to just be a random thing. There must be something with this ammo that is causing this.

Am I upset about it? Not really, the stuff cost me $200 plus tax. Not going to complain about a few issues here and there. Went through 300 rounds this afternoon and for the $$, I had a ton of fun. It seems to be fairly accurate though im not measuring groups or anything.

I just thought this jamming issue was interesting as it appears to be ammo related.
