Got a griz draw, but...

Whatever it takes - make it happen!

You've been drawn for what appears to be one of the best areas in the province. You could fly commercial to Whitehorse and rent a truck to get you close.

If you really want to hunt the big bears, and allow this to pass you by, it will haunt you for the rest of your life.

Highway 7 is the eastern boundry of 6-29 so you can hunt to the west from there. Don't forget, no discharge within 400 m of the highway!:D

Thank you very much, guys, for all your advices and thoughts. Now it is much more clear to me, what I will do for this hunt. Partner is a problem now. My hunting buddy got a draw in different area (We applied for the same area, but I got a substitute hunt istead). The odds in 6-29 are 1:0.5 and there are 15 authorizations, so any resident of BC could win this hunt of a lifetime. But nevertheless, after all your suggestions, I am pretty pumped for this hunt and trying to make it work. It does not seem impossible now. But not easy as well...

like it has been mentioned this is defiontly not something to pass up . look for anyone someone to split the costs with you then get a good sturdy but compact 4x4 with full insurance to get you as close as posible to your camp and enjoy

Zone 6-29 is probably one of the best grizzly spots in BC. The problem is not access, but instead convenience. As 'Why Not?' stated, the best way to access this zone is from Yukon on the Haines Road. There are a ton of bears in the Tatsenshini-Alsek and due to the relative lack of trees, you can see for miles and miles. If you do go, there should be absolutely no problem in getting a bear. Probably better to fly up to Whitehorse and rent a car and drive down. Be quite expensive to drive the whole way from Vancouver.

Haines Road

We've been over this entire road, also, Ted. Beautiful country, mostly above timberline.

It's Park, you can't drive anything off of the paved road.

I wish you the best of luck getting this hunt together. It surely sounds like a kick ass experience indeed. BC is so purdy.
Good luck man! and if you manage to get er done, please post pictures ;)

I agree with whynot, does your zone run right off the hianes road? If so drop me a PM, I think I have some maps of the area.If it does run up to the road you could backpack right off the highway with a great chance of success!
