That's a good budget precision rifle. The Falcon scopes are decent for the price. 94% light transmission. They don't compete with the $1000 scope but they work just fine and the glass is decent on them. I own a number of them too.
I like your choice with the Warne/Zeiss rings and the two separate bases. Some go with the one piece rail which is nice too but the two piece ones are just fine and those rings are top notch.
I have a VSSF II in 223 with a rail and I slapped on a Falcon 6-18x 56mm just to go shoot it. Well once I found the ammo it liked, it was shooting 1 hole at 100 yards so that scope is staying put on it. It's a case of don't change anything if it's working.
The next logical upgrade to that rifle is to pick up an aftermarket stock with an aluminum bedding block. But I'd see how it shoots first. Also make sure to use the right ammo. Try sighting in with 165 Fusion then up one click and try 168 Federal Gold. Yes expensive but worth it to see what the rifle actually can do before you start reloading for it.
Please let us know how it shoots. Good choice for a budge precision rifle. I like it.
