Nice relaxing weekend inside so i thought i'd make a little project. Took one of my Norinco 1911's that i "blanked" and re-blued awhile back and decided to give polishing a try. One of the benefits to having in-expensive guns is that you're never scared to experiment. I did a lot of it by hand and also used a polishing wheel. It turned out pretty good.

Now, of course, are you planning to keep it like that? If so, I would suspect you will want to coat it with something before it turns into rust city.

A before pic please, did it start out blued or what?:D

it stared as a blued Norc, i them removed the bluing and "de-norced" it, removing the model number, Norc roll mark and "made in china". I then re-blued it. Then i removed the bluing again and used a black dura-coat on it, i then removed that and did this polish job. its the gun that i practice on.

after i blanked it and re-blued

I dont know if i will keep it like this, i really like changing the look all the time. I've put a nice coat of oil on it to deal with the rust issue for now.
