Any reason you chose that arrangement with the red rears and green front?

Funny! I asked because I have the red front/ green rears on my G22 right now. My preference would be a colored front with blacked out rears.
I used to prefer that but with my post-cataract artificial lenses my near-focus vision needs a bit of help with rear sights now so if I'm not shooting optic I like some subtle dots to assist my aiming and I think that red rear and green front would be the sweet spot for me. I've got all-green HiViz on my G22 (the older plastic model) and they're ok.

Tell me all about bad eyes! I’m far sighted so I can’t pick up my pistol sights without 2x glasses. But with them on, I can’t see the target clearly. Trijicons look like 4-5 dots in the dark. That’s why I think a single red or green dot will be less confusing for my eyes. I’ve given up everything but combat accuracy now as my eyes ( like yours!)just won’t let me see accurately anymore.
I just find the green easier to pick up quickly - for fast shooting I don't even notice or see the reds. For accurate shooting, I can see them rather well and they help me line up the shot better.
These sights come with black rear litepipes so they can be set up that way - what I like about these is the litepipes can be swapped around until you find the combo you like.
