I would not steer anyone away from the PGW wood - it can be made into a great stock. Just be aware it's nowhere near a "drop-in" fit. It also does not come pre-drilled, so if you aren't careful you can put many hours into inletting the stock and then mess it up by mis-drilling either piece.
Sometimes, it's better to pay an expert to do work for you. You don't save much money avoiding gunsmithing fees if you have to buy the PGW wood twice!
