Got my 1967 Browning A5 20 mag. in the mail today. WooHaw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I feel dumb and embarrassed. I guess there are two places the choke is marked on the A5s. I had read only of the tiny obscure barrel ring marking and wondered how everyone seemed to read it as easily. But alas the asterisk (I guess) is also stamped before the *SPECIAL STEEL-20 GAUGE-SHELLS-3 INCH stamping. I guess this is a real choke even if it's a little oversize. Maybe someone did a little honing before. Can anyone check their barrels for this stamp/engraved marking or otherwise confirm this observation? Maybe this precedes all main barrel markings?

For sure???? I handled more of these logs than most A5 owners over the years and what is there to say for sure on
One * says it all if that is what is there per your description

I'd rather be priceless then pricey. Perhaps you failed to comprehend. First off I have only handled ONE. Secondly 40 posts ago I described what I saw on the inner left bottom of the barrel ring as was described in a Google search. Thirdly I can't post pics now as I couldn't then.You obviously in your long membership have mastered it. Why didn't you clear it up 39 posts ago, by saying as a caption on your pic"are you looking here" nuf said.

You are going to learn very quickly here there are some members with 40/50 years experience working on and owning all types of shotguns and they can be a vast resource when required . Members such as struff55, etc etc. No I am not in his league but can hold my own with most here
Attitude like yours being displayed will come back to bite you in the ass especially when shooting vintage shotguns like that A5. Google is not going to help fix them when you have issues and you will
Perhaps you can put your aggression into first learning to post pics which is important on the forum. If this old man could learn I am sure you can and I had to learn twice after the photobucket BS

Well 3 Macs as much as I like and respect you to consider those I bolded over an A-5?? You poor, poor man you are slipping terribly with aging!! It’s ok though by the time your new favorite thing will be the tapioca pudding served on thursday night at the manor you’ll have forgotten all about having owned those clunky sheet metal, alloy and tupperware semi’s and of course you’ll think when we talk about your Belgian Sweet 16 we’re referring to your first sweetheart likely and start reminiscing about her as you dribble your tapioca?!! :p

Don't even start talking auto engines with me especially old ones. :) Lots of old red seal mechanics here, me included more so than those that have worked on vintage firearms

Any day you would like to learn me or show me how your chrysler engines are working I still have my 70ss454 chevelle I bought used in 74 that would like to see your work in action or my 66 or one of my 68 impala's pending how slow yours are :) In fact I would say the auto 68SS427 is more than enough. Then again maybe you are talking boat engines in your neck of the woods

I have nothing against chrysler in fact bought a new ram 4x4 in 85 and another new 89. I just sold the 89 3 years ago when I got a new chev it was still original paint and mint which was not easy to keep that way living on the cape it's entire life and driving it year round
