Got my 1st antlered buck back

Picked up my deer today. Shot it Nov 8th. After coming to stand an hour late!

Done by Banks Tallpine Taxidermy. Didn't see any reviews on him so I went and viewed his work and liked it.
Was suspose to go on the other side of the wall but decided this worked.



 
Right on! Now you NEED to get out next season as well,for a mount to put on the other wall to feng shui the room or whatever it is. Give the room a sense of balance.
 
Congratulations, nice buck and nice job on the taxidermy. I have also got lucky several years coming late to the stand. Usually I end up late because I am tired from hunting so hard at other times during the season.
 
It does has very hairy ears! I thought that myself!

Not sure how taxidermy works but these are ears off the original deer correct? If so hahahaha
 
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but that thing has some major major issues and I’m not gonna candy coat it.. That thing looks like a POS and I hope you didn't pay very much because even at 200 bucks you got ripped off... It has grooming issues, eyes are the wrong shape, ear butts are all wrong and to low, looks like the ears will collect water when it rains, rack is tilted to far back, brisket needs work, nostrils are way too big and I bet the eyes aren’t level. If you think I’m full of #### check out taxidermy.net and post pictures of it and see what the guys say. They will rip that thing apart. There are people that have posted pictures of their first deer they have ever mounted and it looks a million times better than that thing. I checked out his website and claims he has 17 year’s experience and it doesn’t show. Guess that’s why he doesn’t post pictures of his completed mounts. Take it back and demand a full refund!!!!!! You gotta get that thing remounted by someone that knows what they are doing!!!
 
Yah I know it's on the bad side. I tried him out and won't be going back as there are defects I spotted them when I got home as I looked more closer. Some of which you stated. The antlers were high on the buck when I shot it. But you know what your talking about so I'm glad you responded.


I don't think I have the balls to bring it back to him face to face. Although I can point out the flaws as you stated..wonder what he would say..

But from the couch it looks good. Lol

Won't bother having him screw it up again so I'll let it be I think.

Next one will be done elsewhere and I'll pay the extra couple hundred if funds are there.

You get what you pay for right lol :)
 
Well, I for one kinda like it. So what if he's got hairy ears? So did my grandpa and he was awesome lol. But why I really like it is because it looks like he's smirking. Like he got a piece of tail just before taking the bullet and even getting shot couldn't wipe the smile off his face. That's badass. :D

After viewing pics of the deer it did ready have strangely hairy ears! Haha

Gonna have to agree with this, first thing caught my eye was the tilted back antlers. ;) 4 ? months for a head mount, including tanning, raises eyebrows as well. Better to pay a little more and have something you'll treasure for the rest of your life.
