Got my big guy back from the taxidermist....

Nope. The 10 point was taken about 400 yards from my back door with my Ruger 77 in 338 Win Mag, the big one was taken 20 minutes away, just outside Peterborough with a Savage ML II muzzleloader shooting a Hornady 250gr XTP hp.

I would still say they could be in the same bloodline. I've read a couple of articles where they tracked the movement of dominant bucks. They can put a whole lot of miles on during a year or two.

Anyway, congrats on two excellent deer.

I'm inclined to disagree. The 10 point is obviously related to the other bucks I've shot close to home, but doesn't share any of the oddball characteristics of the big one. The 10 point's bloodline has nearly perfect symetrical antlers. Other bucks I've shot on the property where I shot the 15 point almost always had messed up antlers. The 7 point my dad shot the next day was also uneven. All these guys were shot within about 500 yards of my back door....
