I'm in the same boat as Giggidy. $156.45 for shipping was a big shock. Maybe you guys could be more transparent with possible shipping costs, or a disclaimer stating that Canpar will take their pound of flesh upon delivery. I buy ammo from a certain supplier with free shipping(or shipping included in price) I know what the bottom line is when I buy. I understand that Marstar doesn't make money from shipping but most online dealers I deal with quote shipping in their checkout.

The part that left a sour taste in my mouth in my first and last deal with Marstar is that I was not told the shipping charges before the order was completed and shipped. I assumed (wrongly) that I would get an email confirming the price of shipping and asking if I wanted to proceed before the order was processed, shipped and I was charged. Had I known the exact charges of shipping I would never have authorized my CC being charged. I almost feel like they pulled a fast one on me. There was no "deal" once you factor in the shipping charges. Live and learn. Wont make that mistake again.

In all fairness, if during the transaction the shipping price wasn't stated, wouldn't a reasonable person determine that himself first before completing? Did you just assume what the price would be?

...not that I don't agree that more transparency/shipping quotes would be a good idea.
 
oh for everyones info, there is a cleaning kit in the butt stock, I know it doesn't say there is one, but there is. Watch your finger when pushing the trap door.
 
I already stated I wrongly assumed I would get a price for shipping before the order completed. I was wrong. They charged my credit card before telling me the final price. But that's my mistake. I won't be shopping a Marstar again.

Had you requested a quote, you would have received it.... It clearly states on the cart that all charges are plus taxes and shipping....

You ar4e obviously not happy with Marstar, kindly return your purchase a for a full refund, including shipping....\
 
Shipping Kills this deal .. Simple. Do your research b4 hand. There are better deals out there for the exact same thing,{once shipping comes to play} If you could forgo the shipping, like a Pick up' would be great & no one could beat this deal. But it isn't a deal at all, with shipping, unfortunately. Wishing there was an alternative, but it is what it is.

No need. I'll keep the gun and ammo. I simply posted my thoughts on your store. No need to be a drama queen. Every other dealer on this board that I have bought from has been able to provide a detailed invoice including shipping before finishing checkout. Maybe Marstar should keep up to date with advances in online shopping. It was a live and learn deal for me. Good product, less than stellar service.

How to tell if it's a military model exept the marking and chinese characters ? Mine have only the serial number, no code and marking on the receiver.
 
I picked up a refurb 1953 russian at CT two days ago. The Chinese SKS I received from Marstar is *mint*compared to the Russian. But for $199, including sling, pouch, bottle, and 4 stripper clips, and no shipping it's a worthy addition to my collection ;)

I have 3 soviet sks's and just recently bought a chinese. The handguard on the chinese is kinda sloppy and loose compared
to my soviet handguards. Is this a normal thing for the chinese.


Picked it up a few days ago for $199 :)
