Got my deer mount today!

I am happier than a pig in sh*t right now. I'm not normally one that shares much, but this is a special occasion for me. After over a year of waiting, I finally got my hands on the mount from the deer I shot back in '19; a 5x6 whitetail. This was the first whitetail buck I ever got after years and years of does and muleys. Even if it was a spike I'd have still gotten it mounted, as I wanted something tangible to commemorate my first whitetail buck. But am I sure glad it wasn't, ha.

Will post pics up once I get him up on the wall.

Not much room in my small apartment but I made it work. His fur needs a little brushing in this picture after all the handling to get him on the wall. Didn't have my wire brush on hand though. Overall, I'm very happy with it.
 
The mount was done by Ray Wiens out of Merritt, in case anyone was wondering. He does good work. When I grabbed it I got a peek at one of his other works, a small brown bear but with the most stunning reddish-brown coat (more red than brown). Absolutely beautiful creature, wish I got a pic.

I know right? I knew I had to have him when I laid eyes on him. I usually have to settle for a dog with antlers, as my grandpa likes to joke (he's from Manitoba).
