Got my deer mount today!

Awesome... its a bit of a life changing moment in my opinion , once a hunter gets a trophy on the wall....

i can only speak for myself but since mounting quite a few of my 'trophies' i for one, cannot stop looking at the things, remembering the hunt an the day even, an it makes killing the next one a bit harder? (hard to fathom but the culture difference)

Congrats on getting a nice Whitetail and most of all well done for preserving the critter for many years to come!!

Looks great- enjoy

Not much room in my small apartment but I made it work. His fur needs a little brushing in this picture after all the handling to get him on the wall. Didn't have my wire brush on hand though. Overall, I'm very happy with it.

That is a beautiful buck! Nice brows! Congrats!

He's one of the first things you notice when you come into my apartment. I love it. And I feel you, I have trophies from each of my hunts and I always find myself staring at them and looking back fondly. Though the hard to kill part comes more from my own self-doubt that I'm going to make a clean kill. Last thing I want to watch the thing suffer, so I often find myself passing on most of my shots.

btabin . tell how us how you got it.
i'm sure that its a great storie.

Not great, but good. Was out all morning and afternoon stalking looking specifically for whitetail. Had no luck so I decided to pack it in and head on back. I was walking along a fence (private property other side, crown land my side) and came around a bend when I spotted a whitetail doe about 200 meters out on my side of the fence. I knew there was a good chance of a buck nearby so I got a little closer, crouched down and waited. After a few minutes I spotted him in the trees, and I knew I had to have him. Unfortunately for me he was on the other side of the fence. But I knew with a doe on my side there was a good chance he would cross over so I kept waiting. They made their way up and down the fence line, doing their thing but neither crossing. I tried my best to keep the glass to my eye while staying within range and keeping as quiet as possible. There was more waiting. It felt like a damn eternity before he finally made his last mistake and hopped the fence. I didn't hesitate a moment before I plugged him and he dropped. I was worried that I should have taken the time to better place my shot and might have hit a non-vital area (though to be honest I feel that way every shot, no matter how long I wait), but luckily he took it right in the boiler room and expired rapidly.

Congratulations, the mount turned out real nice, did you have the antlers scored?

Nah, I never even knew that scoring them was a thing until now.

When I read your Post Title, my 1st. thought was ,,,,,, "I hope there is pictures". I hope you can add pics.latter.
