The Glock NY1 trigger spring (Trigger Spring, NY 1 Olive, GLSP07405) is widely recommended, but - because I've found it to interfere with disassembly - I don't use it.
I like Heinie sights, a (smooth) Glock G17 trigger, Tangodown Vickers' magazine release, and a Nowlin lanyard-loop buttplug. That's it.

the only mod you would need would be to lighten the trigger. having said that i out shoot everyone in my club with a completely stock gen3 G17 with fixed sights... stock trigger takes some getting used to.. I tried the lighter trigger and didn't like it but hey everyone has there own preferences.
I like an extended slide release, Vickers or cut down extended mag release, and better sights.
Extended mag release, disconnector. I wouldn't worry about the trigger spring, I stopped using it because it doesn't field strip as easily.
Could upgrade the sights, FO's can be easier to acquire/align.
Other than that...plan on shooting it quite a bit to get used to the trigger.

you will need to detail strip it. your really just looking for the 3.5 lb connector.
(Brownell's won't ship the connector)
Shoot it as much as you can. The stock trigger is heavy with a long pull. Once you get to know where the break is (or at least have a good idea) it is a great gun. Every time out it takes me the first mag to find the amount of pull before the break point.
I find it too long of a pull to hold on target without taking up the slack while lineing up the shot. In the past I have used too much trigger finger and that just pulls the shot.
Get as much trigger time in as possible and your groups will get smaller.

The first mod I did to my Glocks was tritium night sights. If you ever needed your Glock for anything other then fun plinking during the day, it's good to go. Have you ever tried shooting a gun in the dark? It's all a big guess if you can't see your sights.

What ever you do Don't bother with the $0.25 trigger job. Both my buddy and I tried it on both our Glocks, and after Polishing the internals we both agreed we will never get those hours back it took to do it. We are both sure it made no difference. All this because another buddy has an uber trigger on his glock, and no matter how hard we try to use the same components as he did. Its not the same feel. Yeah you know who you are.
Learn how to use the trigger and reset. There's nothing there to "fix"... it's just different from SA, DA/SA, or DAO triggers. In my experience, money spent on aftermarket parts to rice up your gun really would have been better spent on ammo to practice.
