My mail lady dropped off my first Ruger today, a New Model Super Blackhawk Bisley Hunter chambered in 44mag. Quality is amazing, locks up tight and the bisley grip really fits the hand well. I'm going to get it out to Silverdale's tomorrow and see how it shoots.

Thanks to Roger at Shooters Choice in Alberta for hooking me up with this revolver.

Well I got it completely stripped down, except for the firing pin, treated with Froglube and reassembled. The internals didn't have a drop of oil on them, completely dry. I couldn't figure out how to remove the firing pin. The stock hammer spring is ungodly heavy, I think I'm going to order the Wolff spring kit from Brownells. Other than that I'm happy with it, should get out tomorrow or Sunday for it's first firing.

Got out to the range today, put about 80 of my reloads through it. It shoots well, I forgot to bring a small enough screw driver to adjust windage so I didn't get it sighted in. Recoil is quite manageable and the bisley grip is quite comfortable, the only thing I don't like is the knuckle of my middle fingers slams off of the trigger guard and is quite sore now, I now know what people mean when they say they get a bloody knuckle shooting these revolvers.

Andrew.
