Got my First Shotgun

Hey guys, I got my first shotgun yesterday. A mossberg maverick 88. I just have one question. Under the receiver it says Mossberg 500A, but the guy at the store told me it was a maverick 88....weird.

Anyway, it came with two barrels. 18 inch and a 26 or 28 inch, cant remember. I went out and shot it yesterday, and I love it, great gun. I paid $299 for it.
 
On the left side of the receiver of mine, is written "Model 88", and also "Maverick by Mossberg".


You got a Mossberg 500, which is supposed to be better somehow, although the parts are interchangeable.
You also got a great deal, I paid $202 for my Maverick 88 18.5" barrel, no other barrel. Be happy.

Yes, you can shoot slugs from it.

now run to the nearest wal-mart and clean em out of winchester slug's!
watch it tho... they have a bite to em... and are extreamly addictive to shoot.
 
oh yeah I plan to. In fact this sunday, I wanna go buy some slugs and some 000 buck shot and blow up some stuff haha. Ill be sure to get it on tape.
 
I got the same gun from cabelas just last week. I'm waiting for it in the mail. Cabelas in winnipeg has it for 249.99 with the two barrels and comes to 299 after tax and shipping.
Was wondering if anyone could direct me to a website that'll ship to canada that sells a good selection of tactical shotgun gear. I want to do mine up as a tactical home defense gun. I'll be looking for pistol grip, heat shield, light, side saddle, sights of some sort, new forend maybe. Anyone that can point me in the right direction would be great.

From what I read here Rems are not what they once were, still good but not the best out of the box. And the MM is a fair chunk of change. Just my $0.02 :)


What ever brand/model you decide on as long as it goes bang every time its all good!!! :D

Hey that's a cool site...some nice stuff there....but do you have any other suggestions ? They are out of stock on just about everything they sell, for shotgun accessories and they don't have much for the mossberg 500.
