Picked up my first gun from the post office today! A Benelli Supernova, purchased from CGN member, Jwirecom109. I'm thrilled with the overall quality of this shotgun. I've only actually handled a couple shotguns, but this Benelli is a hell of a nice piece for the $$. Can't wait to get out on Saturday and play with it a little. Just wanted to share my excitement, and let everyone know if they see something they like that is being advertised for sale by CGN member Jwirecom109, deal with confidence. I couldn't be happier about my purchase.

Just got back from shooting for a couple hours. Only took Federal 7.5 target load and 2 3/4" rifled slugs. It was only my friend (w/ 870 Express supermag) and I (Supernova 28"bbl), so we didn't bother to take any clay. Going to hit some clay when our other buddies can make it out.

Just to see how well this Benelli points and hits 'flying targets', we filled a couple small water bottles and my friend threw them up from behind me for me to shoot. No trouble finding the target and hitting it. I'm a complete noob to guns, so I was really happy with the way this shotgun operates in my hands.

I wanted to see where I'd hit with rifled slugs out of the smooth bore barrel so we took a couple bigger water jugs filled with water and I took my first shot from about 30-35 yards. I'd say it shoots the rifled slugs pretty accurately from this yardage, as I hit the jug almost dead centre. I setup the second jug and hit it in roughly the same place. Next time I go out I'll take more jugs and try from 40-60 yards. This is important to me, as I deer hunt on my uncle's 200 acres, which is a shotgun/bow only WMU. If I can get the slugs to hit accurately out to 60 yards, I'll have a great setup for shotgun deer season this year.

Overall, this gun points very well for me(though I'm not well rounded on other brands), has lower recoil than my friend's 870 Express, which he stated himself, and is very well made. It has great ergonomics, and I love the placement of the safety in front of the trigger guard. An absolute pleasure to shoot. If I get some time this evening I'll post the iPhone vid of the exploding water jug.. Big deal, I know lol.. I'm thrilled to have this Benelli Supernova as my first gun purchase. I don't think I would've went wrong with an 870 or the Mossberg 500. However, I feel I've definitely got my money's worth with this Benelli.

awsome choice. a few years ago for my first shotty i was looking into either a mossberg 500 mariner or a NEF single shot 10g, instead i got a Cooey 84 single shot 20g. but i honestly dont regret it.
