Well I finally got one! Not a tom. But a good sized jake. He was 18lbs on the nose. I was very happy considering I missed a running tom on wed a.m. My other buddy got a 20.5lb tom wed a.m. too! A good hunt. Except for the down pour this a.m. Hope you guys made out well.

Dave.

I have a few pic's. I will see if I can't sweet talk mommabear into posting a couple for me after!

Dave.

Congrats man!

I lived in Southern Ontario my whole life, now live in better hunting country, BUT unfortunately we don't have turkey's up here :(

PS Wouldn't it be great if Turkey season was just before thanksgiving? you could shoot your own turkey dinner :)

It's ashame you guy's don't have Turkeys out West. Is there any sort of program going on there as far as re-introduction goes? Because it has sure worked well here. Maybe someone should start something out West. Check out the O.F.A.H. and see if they have any western affiliations. You could trade Elk for Turkey's. I think originally we traded moose to get our's from the States.

That would be an idea I would definately support. I would love to get elk back into Ontario & would gladly trade turkey's for them. I know we have had a largely unsuccessful elk re-introduction program in Ontario for some time now, but it seems to have stalled out. I'll have to look into this more.
