Got my first turkey!

Actually there IS a turkey re-introduction program going on here in southern Alberta. I hear it has had enough success to open a short limited season. I don't partake in that activity yet, but who knows? There is quite a bit of skills involved from what I've read, lots of cammo gear and calling...sounds like fun :) I love domestic turkey from the Hutterites, how are the wild ones, I'd trade some elk meat for turkey.

We do have Turkeys out West. West of the Rocky Mountains to the Rock Creek area along Highway 3 to the US border. Saw a hen as far West as Westbridge, BC (Highway 33, North of Rock Creek) last Thursday as we were returning from a successful Turkey hunt from our usual hunting area south of Cranbrook, BC.

no can do that here .as it is against the law to buy,sell,trade or barter any game meat

PS to glang) The elk re-introduction is not a failure, and we will probably see an elk hunt with limited hunter numbers within the decade. Or so I have read very recently....

I dont know about moose. But I do know we traded some river otters for some of those turkeys.

I personally think wild turkey IS the BEST tasting wild game out there.

No turkeys up north but lots of magpies and crows. Guess I'll have to use my imagination:D

I don't know about a chick. But I do have a neighbour that would fit the bill.:runaway: If you gave him a glass or two of vino I'm sure he would put a wig on for the picture! LOL.
