got My Hakim in better shape then i expected just some clutter in the Rifling looked pretty bad initially but after soaking and cleaning starting to shine nicely.

Never thought I would get a Hakim or see one for sale as of late

Thanks again

Just to stir the pot for a second, there are probably two rifles that get confused under the name "Hakim". The first is the Egyptian-made Belgian-designed FN49 or SAFN. It is the direct ancester of the famous FN FAL rifle. The most obvious feature of the FN49 is the gas plug and piston that run along the top of the barrel under the handguard. The second model is the Egyptian-made 8mm Mauser version of the Swedish-designed AG42B. It is the bigger brother of the wartime Swedish rifle, and shares the unique 'no cocking handle' mechanism. It one is also known as a Llungmann, with various spellings. Which one did you get?

Well since it says Eypt Hakim right on it hmm

No it is no the FN49 I know the difference between them have seen both before purchasing this one

AG42 Tooled Hakim 8mm

You need to post pics, did you get a bayonet with it?

Fewer of them in circulation than the FN49 "Hakim". From what I recall, the muzzle break keeps the recoil manageable, but it barks very loudly.

I just sold my Egyptian Hakim this year...even with gas adjusted she would clear the bench :) and god help anyone to my right if i was shooting. Fun rifle. I kept my FN49 8mm as well.....love the battle rifles
