I went through 4 barrels in that caliber before i relaized that barrel life is only about 1000 rounds.

But it is a screamer to it goes.

I was shooting the Sierra 80 at about 3100 fps. Eventually the barrel throat was rough enough to casue bullets to blow up.

robertson stocks

couldnt be happy, awesome job, finishing is great....would highly recommend Ian to anybody....

BBL life? 1000 rounds? When shes all tired ill get her set back and make a 24, then well, not like another bbl is too much cash......

But like you say, it screams...

Looks like a hell of a gopher slayer. Love the stock too.
If you were going for an F-Class rig then I would have gone for a larger cartridge with a heavier bullet.
If you were going for Bone Factor then MISSION ACCOMPLISHED !!!!! :pirate:

Congrats; that is a very nice stick. I can only imagine the damage you will do to the local gopher population. Could you post a target or two, would love to see them. Again we're all jealous.

this is for

smakin yotes in the lips......:50cal:

Its not meant to be a f-class....otherwise i would chose a different caliber, but its mainly for local predator control....Generally varmint smakin...

Very Nice!
The "man with no name" strikes again!

The Robertson looks better than their website shows it..... I just bought 3 A-5's because I didn't like the pictures on the Robertson website.

Boy was I wrong!

How do you like the trigger?

trigger

Its got a jewel, I have it set for 8 oz... Its by far, the absolute IMHO the best trigger, It really does break like glass..... I am totally thrilled with the gunsmithing work and all the knowledge, customer service from the man who shall not be named

I had the same problem with stock choice but my buddy has one so once I seen it the choice was a no brainer.

Interesting!
I thought all Barnards came with the proprietary trigger (reputed to be good). Sheesh wrong again!

I'm with you on the Jewel thing. Even a moron such as myself can get a glass rod 1/2 pound pull in minutes. All of my target rifles (and most of my varmint guns) have jewels.

The thing I like best about Jewels is how they make my friends (who aren't used to 1/4 pound triggers) look foolish. Even after they practice dry firing the thing half a dozen times I almost always get to look over at their surprised (gaping mouth) face and say "how come that target doesn't have a hole in it" or "how come the hole is way up there?" :D :D

Small mind I know but I need all the help I can get!

What are your intentions for the rifle?

Seems like a strange caliber.

.22-250 Ackley Improved....strange caliber??? Its a pretty modest "wildcat" that'll even let you continue to use factory .22-250 ammo; the brass will simply be fireformed to the new ackley chamber. I'm sure this rifle will make for a great 'yote gun.:D
