Is that rear sight adjustable? It appears to be different than others I've seen
 
Over the years, Ive had 4 of these. Some are good....& some down right dangerous. I had one and my buddy had one,...when you charged it and let the slide go...it would FIRE ! Always point that darn gun Down range.!! Not kidding.

Do you use a slide release lever to release the slide forward? I always pull back the slide and release to get it into battery. I've never had any accidental discharge with my Star B Modelo Super after releasing the slide.

It happened both ways. do NOT trust this gun. fair warning folks.
 
This was taken off the net, and might explain the accidental discharges that me & my friend were getting. Not trying to bash this gun, but man, I gotta tell ya, it was a dam close call with my buddy.

Inertial Firing Pin: The ones I’ve seen have inertial firing pins but I have read that some did not. (An inertial firing pin is one that is shorter than the length of the channel in which the firing pin moves when struck by the hammer. In other words, if the hammer is resting against the rear of the firing pin, it is not touching the primer of a chambered cartridge. If the rear of the hammer is struck, the firing pin will not move. On a non-inertial firing pin, if the hammer is down, the firing pin does touch the chambered round’s primer, a potentially dangerous situation. If the hammer is struck or the pistol dropped and lands on the hammer spur, the chambered cartridge could be unintentionally fired.)
These guns may well have very poor (or dangerously light) triggers .

The trigger pull on my Star B Modelo Super is 8-9 lbs. I got mine from Tradex for $299 before taxes. I don't recall that they were selling any Star B Modelo Super with a windage adjustable rear sight.
However, I've just found that P&S Guns and Militaria in Quebec sell the Star B Modelo Super with a windage adjustable rear sight. At least, that's what a pic on their website shows. However, their price is $349 before taxes.
Did you buy yours from P&S Guns and Militaria? Is, in your opinion, the windage adjustable rear sight worth the extra $49+tax?

Mine came from Tradeex and to have the adjustable rear sight and a sub 4 pounds trigger, must have been a different lot, can repeat enough this pistol can easily be compare to a 1K + 1911 9mm... JP.

Mine is from TradEx as well but fix rear sigth. My pistol has 2 little problems: Can't shoot brass cased ammo, just metal case (Barnahul works great) and if I load the magazine with 8 rounds will get jammed, so I shoot only metal case ammo and 7 rounds in the magazine and works perfect with no failures

Indeed, it looks like Tradeex had two different lots of the Star B Modelo Super: one with windage adjustable and the other one non-adjustable rear sight. Pitty, that I didn't know that when I was buying mine. There was no info on the Tradeex website about a lot with an adjustable sight. I'm a bit upset with that. For the same price it's always better to have an adjustable sight. Anyway....
With regard to jamming my Star B Super never jams on a regular brass cased ammo like PM Bronze, Blazer Brass etc. The only case of jamming was with shooting the brass cased WASP re-loads.
