While shopping to get ammo for my MR-1 223 i saw boxes of Ruger on the counter ... They just recieved 5 sr-22 so i bought one and since it is the month of the member got a nice minus 15% discount... Out of the door 503.00, was at the good place at the good time... JP.

good choice, they are a fun little rifle for sure, iv put 10 000 + rnds threw mine and its still goin strong. it looks like ruger actaully has come out with a 25rn mag for the 10/22 that feeds as good as the stock rotary one. which i cant wait to see, cant tell you how many butler creek ones iv had and been disapointed by

Last night i was down to the range to try out my new SR-22, installed a 4X12X40 Redfield on it, had 250 of CCI Stingers, in my 2 other 10-22 they dont group good but WOW out of that SR-22 i got amazing groups from them, one inch at 75 metres, this rifle is loud, no failures, trigger is good and the Hogue grip is so comfy, you got a very solid feeling and it is well made, good job Ruger, 250 rounds went fast, i am very happy i could get one of those they are a trill gun, not touching nothing, my set up is perfect and i will buy a brick of Stingers... JP.

Welcome to the club
I got my SR-22 last year, 8000 rounds down the pipe and going strong!
plus she gets ###ier and ###ier every month.. pace on that may slow due to the Postal job action.. have a couple items in limbo now :bsFlag:
Enjoy the rifle, lots of shiznit you can do to it ;)

Two mandatory upgrades:
1. Extractor
2. Auto bolt release
Both parts can be bought for less than 25 bucks, shipping in.

Good price you got btw, I paid about a hundred more

You might want to BLUE loctite the top receiver rail bolts and the bottom front bolt that holds the shroud on, or at least check them periodically. They seemingly can shake loose.

If you do have to tighten them , don't go armstong crazy and crank them down too hard, as they are easy to strip.

Sorry to hijack this thread with a tech question but what is the best scope base for that rifle cost being a non-issue.

Just being at the range today georgous day for shooting, put 500 rounds of CCI Stinger ( one whole brick ) thru my SR-22 NOT A SINGLE malfunction and the groups are tithgening shooting at 100 metres everything was under 2 inches and the last 100 rounds had 6 groups in a row sub-moa. This rifle got the badass look but it really shoot like a benchrest rifle, very impress with it, did not try no other ammo only Stinger but never had a rifle that could shoot Stinger so thight, one inch at a 100 metres with Stinger this will be a hell of a woodchuck rifle for next spring... JP.
