So, I'll never knock a guy for owning any gun they want, and if a revolver is what you want, have at it. But me, I can never see owning any revolver, to me, these guns seem boring and antiquated compared to a good pistol.

Am I a sucker for modern day guns, or do you agree?

PS I know this thread will attract many opinions, but I'm bored right now and this thought just popped into my head.
:)

Like you i prefer pistols as well, however i shoot the many revolvers i have had very well and with all the pistols i have owned i am merely mediocre /sigh. if push came to shove and i had to defend life and limb with a handgun i hope i am holding a good revolver.

1. Revlovers feel vastly different from autos and they're a nice treat.
2. There's no 'kaboom' like some wheelguns
3. ALL pistols are great and you gotta try them all
4. There's no trigger like a sweet, smooth S&W revo trigger!

But I like autos better too....

Have to agree with tgt40 I love to shoot my S&W 357 especially when it breaths fire and I shoot it a lot better than any of my semi's :)

But I like autos too....

Theres nothing like shooting a revolver at +1600fps and hitting steel at +100yrds. Something real hard to do in most autos.

I guess its like Wine. You can appreciate it but its not for everyone.

I know, I'll admit, when a buddy at the range let me shoot his revolver (i think .357 mag) with a leupold handgun scope on top, it was really cool hitting the gongs at 100. But this all washed away when I held my first semi.

:D I do LOVE my revolvers, new ones and old ones!!! I think it is th elook of the old West that keeps me coming back to them. I can say I will never get rid of my Colts Python and Anaconda. Just watching the fire pour out the muzzle and having nice tight shot pattern at the end!!!!

nothign better then going to a range where guys are hitting the plates but cant knock them down with thier auto's and pulling out the .357 and putting down all the plates :D

I shoot auto's at work, and own both auto's and revolvers, but there is just that extra bit of classyness of having a nice wheel gun

I didn't think I'd like revolvers until I thought I'd try a Model 19 that the range has. They just seemed so funky looking and like they would be hard to hold. BOY, DID I GET A LESSON! Half way through the second cylinder I was hooked. From the loading two at a time to the shooting in both ultra smooth double action and razor crisp single action right to the ability to dump the empties in a nice neat little pile.

Yep, nothing like 'em. I still love my semis but the two are like night and day, yin and yang, blue rare beef and saucy french cuisine, you say pota..... well, you get the idea.

If they aren't for you then that's fine. That's all the more for us folks that appreciate them.... :D Hey, if everyone liked the same stuff the world would be a pretty boring place.

When I have a nice hefty revolver in my hand, my semis just stay in the case. Each has their place, but a revolver is my favorite by far. I seem to be able to shoot them better, for some reason, too. Eagleye.

i always told my friends i would never buy a weelgun....until i tried one.
i bought a s&w 586 in 357 and it is growing on me, i shoot a m&p 9mm, a nork 45 and my shooting partner's cz 75 sp01 .
the more i shoot the revolver, the more i like it and there is that superb muzzle flash / big boom that you dont get whit the others that just gives you a big smile!

I said the same thing, 20 years ago. Now I own more revolvers than semi auto handguns and rarely shoot the semi's. Be careful what you say, it can come back to bite you!!
