Got revolvers?

Well, there IS the Desert Eagle in 50AE.

But generally semis can only shoot a limited range of loads. Not like many wheelguns where you have two and in a few cases even 3 options.
 
I carry a revolver for work and love it! but semi's are fun.
We are currently switching to S&W semi's. Unfortunatley they will not and are not allowed to sell me my gun i've been carrying for 10 years! I am currently looking for 1 :)
 
I love semi-autos but I have had too many go finicky for this reason or that. Revolvers are more reliable.
So if I was given a choice for self defence I might choose a revolver. It will go boom even if I "limp-wrist" it!
 
I have a few autos and I love each one of them, their cheap to shoot and fun and make for a great day at the range, however if I want to split the heavens and rain fire then I bring out my wheel gun an 8 3/4 firebreather in 460 s&w mag a real show stopper sorta like 10 year old burbon!!!:cheers::evil:
 
I like auto's quite a bit but I find revolver to have a certain class to them. They point better, feel nicer in my hand and just have a connection to days past. I also like that i can load up my Gp-100 with everything from barely-moving wadcutters to serious powerhouses.
 
Pistols vs Revolvers

I love the 1911's, the BHP's, the CZ's, the Glock's, the Ruger MkII's & III's, etc...

But I started on wheelguns. Love 'em, too. Both double actions like a nicely tuned S&W to a Colt SAA or modern clone.

When I am in the U.S. I carry a 5 shot .357 revolver. A revolver will always fire.
 
Tough to outshoot a Smith wheelie.......
Not much out there tougher than a Super Blackhawk...........
Not much that's better looking than a Colt Python......

But I like my auto's too. I just hate picking up brass from whereverthehell they get flung to.
 
Basically the most power you can get in a one hand gun comes in a revolver. Sure, the latest crunchenticker will throw more bullets down range faster (although with the 10 round limit that isn't as big an advantage as it used to be), but true magnum power is pretty much a single shot pistol or revolver thing. My tuned custom Colt .45 ACP is very accurate and fun to shoot but I like my revolvers more. Down to a 5" 629 Classic a Ruger SBH 71/2". Out with a new load for them yesterday. Got the Dillon geared up for 44 now so they'll see a lot more action.
 
I prefer revolvers. Figure out your action type, (2 choices), and how to carry and shoot it safely, and your good to go.

You can do the same with your semi too, but if you have 10 or 20 different ones you might get mixed up changing back and forth. Like ow!, that's the one that bites, or that's the one that fires a whole clip at once, or I thought that was the decocker, that must be on the other one, where is the clip for that one/ gee I love racking slides, rack em in, rack em out, did I rack it? maybe I better rack it again, is this the one with 1/4 in pull? whoops no, sheesh. :ninja:
 
gotta go with the wheelgun myself. have a cz97b and its pretty good, but my mod 24 smith is in a class of its own. swore i would never have two of one kind of restricted weapon, but now am looking at another revolver, a smith 625.

aside from the other advantages such as not picking up casings, revolvers i suppose can shoot darn near anything. big bore and low velocity with home cast bullets takes some of the cost out of shooting too.

too bad nobody brought back the old british rounds, ya know .50-58 cal. :)
 
No doubt here......I prefer my six-guns for the most part!

But I do keep a Colt 1911 around because it's such a neat firearm, also a comparitively light/handy Star Model FR Sport in 22 for my daughters to shoot. Plus a nice shooting Ruger Mk II because it is superbly accurate at 20-25 yards.

95% of the time it's one of many 44's loaded with 44 Special, or perhaps the big eight inch pipped Dan Wesson Model 44 (or) the Colt Model 357, both using full house loads.
Now that I am a member of an outdoor range again, the .38's will 'get a much needed rest.'

I have autos and revolvers, and like both; each have their distingushing features and merrits. A smooth light DA trigger on a revolver is a joy to use. I prefer the feel of an autoloader in my hand, but my revolvers have spoilt me in not having to chase brass. My SA Ruger Blackhawk with stout .45 Colt loads is a painless recoil marvel, and my Colt .45 Combat Commander is a rapid fire fun gun,..........so they all have their rightfull place.
I am now searching for a S&W 547 (the 9mm revolver) with the 106mm barrel; if anyone has one of these they would like to convert to cash, please PM me.

Like many said before me, I have both and enjoy both types. But once you try a S&W M27 or get bitten by a Snake like the Python, you will understand why revolver is the choice of many!
