Was able to get out to the range with some of my builds/rifles this past weekend and it was damn hot, almost 36C under the covered shooting line. Being a new dad has seriously cut into my shooting time and this past winter/spring I'd only managed to buy/tinker/modify my toys as opposed to actually using them. Below the girls, all new to me and unfired in their current configuration(save for the 222)
1. Remington LTR 223
2. CZ 455 Lux 22LR
3. Magnum Research MLR 1722 22LR
4. Tikka T3 Compact w/McMillan Edge Hunter in 308
5. Sako made Browning 222
Was very anxious to get my two new rimfires sighted in and neither of them disappointed. The Magnum Research 1722 is such a cool gun with its aluminum wrapped barrel. It barely weighs over 4lbs. This was a brand new gun and the first few shots were all over the place but it dialed in and grouped wonderfully as you can see. I only put the 1-4x20 Leupold on it for that trip to the range, its going to get a Nikon Rimfire soon enough. Going to be replacing the trigger group also but other than that I see nothing else to change. Thanks to Prophet River for this bad boy, with 10% off and no tax or shipping I got a great deal on this very fun little firearm.
Next up was the CZ 455 Lux with the Leupold Rimfire 2-7x28. Gun shot as expected and grouped amazingly. Trigger could be lighter but hard to beat the results.
Ammo used was Federal Game Shok 40gr copper plated solids. Was on sale at Cabelas for $3.99/50 rounds.
All in all a great day at the range and I couldn't be happier with my new rimfires, they shot beautifully and left a smile on my face that you couldn't knock off with a stick.
