went to the range today to shoot a little with my recently developed .223 load here are the results I had 50 rounds loaded up 5 of which i shot at a target that was already on up on the backstop, so there is 45 rounds on these targets

all 5 shot groups except on one target i shot 2 shots and they were awful so i shot the other 3 somewhere else

im still getting a few flyers but my shooting has defiantly got a lot better this year, i plan to bed my rifle with devcon over the winter that might help a little too

Rifle: Savage 12 F/TR
Bullet: 80gr Amax
Brass: Lapua, Neck Sized Only

Looks like you got some good stuff going on. Nice shooting.
Bed the rifle and watch your groups shrink. Also, get an Mpod ;) they're an awesome platform.

where did you find the gun at, I have one on order and it will be another 3 months for a total of 5 months from a small town, getting one to play with so my barnard stays at home in the rain, Jefferson

I got the gun from Ellwood Epps. They had it in stock. It was just luck that i found it, I had been looking everywhere locally here in MB but no one had em and ordering is always bull ****. I was looking on their web site and saw it listed so I called right way and ordered it, it was cheap too, it was 1150 plus tax and 30 bucks shipping.

I think most of the gun shops do big orders in the spring (that's when i looked) Epps had 2 listed and one was sold already when i looked.

good luck

the only thing i would change on this rifle is the lame cheek peice, i think im going to get an adjustable comb put on it

Any signs of pressure? I just loaded up 24 gr of Varget for some 80gr. Amax rounds.

when i was using rem brass and full length resizing i had slightly flattened primers, iv just switched to lapua and neck sizing and the primers look really nice now. there was no other pressure signs

when i developing this load i went as high as 25.7 grs with no problem, max in my book is 25.5 i think
