Got the new CZ452 Varmint out finaly!

so sat down and entered all my targets into "On Target" and then got out the old calculator.

so i did about 70 rounds of just firing to get the gun going.
than i did 80 rounds at 25m and out of all those targets the average group size was 0.6
than i went out to 55m and shot 100 rounds and those targets average group size was 1.5
keep in mind this is with Blazer ammo not anything good.
the 55m shots i noticed the old blazers would chuck out a wicked flyer every once in a while which really bumped up the average group size, im sure if i took off the targets that had those massive flyers the average would be down around 1".

so not bad for the initial play time.

gonna try to source out a bunch of upper end ammo this fall/winter and do a BIG test with all my guns.
its gonna cost me a lot i fear, haha

So that's about 60 yards, ya love yer metric eh? A little more difficult to compare with the gold standard of 1/2" @ 50 yards that extra distance is gunna open things up a little. Fliers just seem to be a thing .22's do right across the board of all kinds of rifles, shooter and ammo combination. I wouldn't worry too much about initial range results especially considering the ammo used. Yer groups looked better to me until you mentioned the actual size lol! I sense good things to come once it's broken in and you feed it the "good stuff".

Hey, once you're bored with it wanna trade for a 455/Lilja barrel? :d

Beware there may be a post or two about bore inspection and chambers bedding pillars et all. It is way to soon to dive into that just shoot the daylights out of it and keep on smiling seems you are having fun already.

Did a wasp fly up your kilt?

Never a bad time to do a firing pin mod! :d Since you wont be swapping barrels like a 455, you can tune your 452 to it's particular caliber. http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=602579&highlight=reshape+firing+pin&page=8

Great info on post #116.
