Globe Firearms was a stellar example of the principle 'buy wholesale, sell retail' in the '60s and '70s. I saw the name of the proprietor (Izzy?). Their store is now under the Vanier Parkway in Ottawa.
They sold all sorts of surplus guns, and are best known for crappy conversions of SVT40 Tokarovs to .303BR, Krags, Mausers and other things that were otherwise unshootable.

Mle, that's not quite the whole truth. Globe jobbed out a lot of milsurp rifles to whomever did the cheapest work. Some of the jobbers were very good and some weren't. There was enough sloppy work to make the Globe name questionable. You had to be and still have to be careful when you buy a firearm with the GLOBE stamp on the barrel. They also converted many milsurps into decent sporters.
Much of the ammunition that was packaged like yours in the picture, was reloaded from milsurp. The bullets were pulled and replaced with soft points. The powder was reused as well as the original primers left in place. The primers, more often than not were corrosive.
They bought low and sold high, it's still being done today and will be tomorrow. No shame in that.
